Weather Summary by Fred Rose
CREATION DATE: Thursday, 2 August 2001 14:52 UTC
FORECAST: Mostly Clear this morning, scattered clouds this afternoon. Highs in the Mid 80's. Lows upper 60's.
GENERAL OVERVIEW: Surface High pressure centered nearly overhead. Upper trough retrograding to the west-southwest and filling along the North Carolina coast. Cirrus on the back side of high pressure ahead of an approaching cold front.
DISCUSSION: We have a narrow gap of cloud free conditions between the Cut off upper system to the southeast and the cirrus ahead of the slowly advancing cold front. Cove should stay CLEAR for the next few hours but towards mid afternoon, the gap will likely disappear. Scattered clouds likely this afternoon.
