Overview:
This was the 2nd flight out of Ponca City. Preflight goals focused on measuring BRDF over the Southern Great Plain Central Facility (36.60°N, 97.48°W) -- CF.
J-31 Crew - David Thrasher (Pilot 1) & Scott Kaiser (Pilot 2).
Cabin Crew - Charles Gatebe (Flight scientist; GEST/GSFC) and Robert Billings (UC Santa Cruz/NASA Ames).

12:45 -- orbited the CF at 2000’ agl for BRDF measurements. Cloud-free over the CF, but some clouds >2 miles from site.
13:01 -- end of BRDF circles
13:03 -- orbited the CF at 4000’ agl for BRDF measurements. Low-level clouds developed over the site.
13:12 -- end of BRDF circles.
13:24 -- orbited the CF at 10,000’ agl for BRDF measurements. Haze layer above Cu clouds.
13:37 -- end of BRDF circles.
14:02 -- orbited 24000’ agl for BRDF measurements. Ice formed on the bubble window. Felt quite cold in the cabin.
14:17 -- end of BRDF circles.
14:38 -- CAR shutdown.
